Recycling Works!

Brenner Recycling is proud to be part of the vibrant, modern, innovative, and responsible scrap recycling industry.  For more than 100 years, the scrap recycling industry has constantly improved and adapted in an effort to save countless natural resources by making the old new again.  Simultaneously, the scrap recycling industry has provided raw feedstock to manufacturers and producers of goods critical to our economy while diverting a portion of the waste stream from landfills and incinerators.  In this way, our tagline “Conserving the Future, By Recycling the Past” is indeed true and proof that #RecyclingWorks for all of us.

 #RecyclingWorks For the U.S. Economy…

According to a study commissioned by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the U.S. scrap recycling industry supports more than 534,000 well-paying jobs, while generating nearly $117 billion in economic activity and $13.2 billion in federal, state, and local tax revenue.  The scrap marketplace is constantly evolving, influenced by changing supply and demand for various commodities in the global marketplace.

 #RecyclingWorks For the Environment…

Scrap materials are environmentally preferable and energy efficient feedstock materials supplying more than 40% of global manufacturing needs.  Recycling reduces the amount of waste we produce and reduces our reliance on landfills and incinerators.  In fact, two out of every three pounds of steel made in the U.S. is manufactured using steel scrap, generating 58% less carbon dioxide and using 60% less energy than making steel from ore.
